He's Here!!!

This post is a little late getting out but Lil' Web is here and his name is Clark Ryne Weber!  He was born April 11, 2011 weighing 8 lbs. 3 oz and was 21.75 inches long.  He is named Clark after one of the 3 roads surrounding Wrigley Field in Chicago and Ryne after Ryne Sandberg a 2nd base hall of famer for the Chicago Cubs and is pronounced like Ryan.

He is now 10 days old and is the most precious little boy ever.  He never cries unless I take way too long to feed him or give him a bath.  He sleeps very well through the night and usually only wakes up once to be fed.  He nurses like a champ and at his 2 day check up had gained 5 oz.
On our way to the 2 day check up

I finally get to live out my life long dream of being a wife and mom and it is even more wonderful than I thought it would be!
The first time I got to see my baby boy.  One of the most treasured moments of my life.

He was breach with his feet up by his head, thus his position.

Love the cheeks, the nose, the fingers, the lips, the eyes....  everything!

Long feet!

He's my frog baby.

The day we left the hospital!  Our first family pic.

An odd way to sleep

I love that face!

The Nursery

Drum Roll Please.....

View from the door. Glowing ball is a paper lantern.

View from the crib.

View from the green dresser, obviously the stroller will probably not be there.

The crib.  We've got the night light turtle and lion blankey.
It's very basic but I really like how it came together!  We didn't have to paint anything except for the shelves and the dresser and Grandma R. re-stained and polyurethaned the windows (they were really beat up).  Thank you to everyone who helped us by donating things or giving gifts!  We couldn't have done this without your generosity.

Life this week

I had unexpected minor surgery Friday.  I went to the podiatrist to see what he would do for my ingrown toe-nails and he decided to take care of them that day.  So I was a big girl and let him cut out my toenails.  (Not the whole toenail, just the sides).  The worst part were the numbing injections.  OUCH!!!  Seriously!  I kept thinking, "Man, I've got to toughen up!  I'm supposed to push out a baby in 10 weeks!"  That epidural is sounding better and better.  It was worth it though, because I didn't feel anything during the procedure. Anyhow, I was given the option of what color to wrap my poor toesies in afterward.
It was between this and green with smilies on it.  I went with the TU loyalties.  I should've asked for one to be yellow.  Ah well.  I give the procedure 2 toes up.

During the whole procedure they have a barrier up so that you can't see what they're doing.  Which I appreciated very much, but it made me that more trepidatious about removing the bandages.  I had no idea what kind of gore to expect.  Really, I was being a big chicken about it, but my husband was sweet and didn't mention that.  My instructions were to soak off the bandages so that I wouldn't pull loose any scabs.

I had an audience.  This gave me another preview of the issues we may have once Lil' Web comes.  I'm afraid Jazz is expecting to help in the bathing process.  There were about 4 layers of purple stuff which gave me a little time to build the courage to take off the gauze that was underneath.  However, I didn't look when I did.  I made Aaron look at it first.  (I'm really not usually this big of a chicken, I promise)!  I'm not sure you want to see the final product so I'll keep that little picture to myself, but it really wasn't as bad as I was expecting.  They actually look worse now just from bruising and stuff.  The good news is that I survived (shocker, right?).  Now i have to soak my toes once a day and then my sweet husband re-bandages them for me.  I've been well taken care of.  I wouldn't mind doing it if I wasn't pregnant... I just can't really reach my feet that well.

In other news...

In a previous post I mentioned something about Bo trumpeting.  I thought I'd include a little clip of the funny noises he makes.  Cracks me up, hope it makes you smile too!

Well, I'm off.  Gotta enjoy my last snow day!  Hope the crazy weather hasn't beaten you up too much!

First Trial

Since I have a sinus infection my doctor prescribed a homemade sinus rinse administered with a bulb syringe. My first thought, "If you told me this 2 months from now, I'd actually have one of those." So I went out and bought a bulb syringe knowing that within 2 months I will probably have another one or two.

Once home, I got the syringe out and found that a certain canine was incredibly interested.
She sat there as long as I was in the bathroom, looking at me, looking at the syringe and back and forth. This morning she sat outside the bathroom looking in.

We might be in more trouble than I thought with baby items...

Amazing Baby

I went in to my OB today to see what I could do to get rid of the sinus problem that I have been dealing with. He always measures my belly no matter what I'm in for so I laid back for him to do that. I looked like I had swallowed a bowling pin. Lil' Web had decided at that moment to stick his head on my left side and his feet on my right side and lay transverse across me. I was quite lumpy! My doctor asked the nurse to bring in his old school "toy sonogram machine" to take a look. Within a minute Lil' Web had circled around and had his feet by my pelvis and his head up by my ribs. The doctor mentioned that it looked like my fluid levels were good (which I guess is what he was checking on) and then said "That's an amazing baby". I almost laughed out-loud. It kind of sounded like a circus act or like in Charlotte's Web when Charlotte puts all those slogans in her web. So now we know, we have an amazing baby. Once this guy is born, I wonder if that translates into "handful" or "trouble-maker".... Can't wait to find out!

Flu Shots and Canine Naughtiness

Flu Shots
I have refused to ever get a flu shot. I figure that if doctors just guess which strain to use then I'm better off not messing with it. Until now. Lil' Web has changed things already. To keep the sweet baby from getting pneumonia someday I compromised my pointless rebellion and got a flu shot yesterday. I realized, as the nurse rubbed my arm with the alcohol wipe, that it has been a long time since I've gotten a shot. I tried to remember what it felt like, with little success until she stuck the needle in me. Then it all came back. Ah, yes, the prick, the burn. Good times. One thing I forgot though, or maybe didn't know, was the lingering pain. I got the shot at 3:45 or so... and my arm still hurts. I couldn't sleep on my left side last night, I can't lean on the sofa arm, I think I'd cry if someone poked me. No, this I don't remember. So Lil' Web better not get pneumonia. Ever.

Canine Naughtiness
The dogs have been very naughty. My mom has been kind enough to let me drop the dogs at her house in the mornings so she can walk them and then they hang out there and can play instead of Bo being in a cage at my house. Well, Bo has decided that mom's landscape beds (that haven't been planted yet) are the perfect location for digging to China. Mom disagrees, quite vehemently. Today he decided that he was too short, so he decided to use the counter to help him see the food he was smelling. He quickly found out that I wasn't a big fan of that. Jazz has decided that she should kill anyone who approaches mom and dad's front door. Big problem for the Boy Scouts, high school boys, United Way volunteers... Needless to say, I see obedience school in their futures.

Exciting Times!

How many babies? 1
Due? April 12th, 2011
Age? 8 weeks
Heartbeat? 174 (so fast!!! but healthy!)
Length? .5 inches

Lil' Web has stubs! Look at those little arms and legs! He (general reference.... we don't know this) looks like a gummy bear! What a cutie :). The ball under him is the umbilical cord. How cool is that?!?! Hope he likes floating upside-down.

It blows my mind to think that God is paying attention to every chromosome and knitting that little gummy bear together inside me. What an unbelievable miracle! PRAISE GOD!!!

I was looking at the growth chart in the Dr.'s office today..... YIKES! That baby looks soooo big at 40 weeks! A little worried about pushing something like that out... especially after I saw Hubby's newborn pic. He was HUGE. Honestly, sumo-baby. I'll have to get a copy of that up here.

That's my exciting day! We'll hear the heartbeat in 2 weeks!!!
